The Calvino (designed by Davide Groppi, 2020) is a poetic, sculptural table lamp that plays with reflection, orientation, and lightness—named in homage to the Italian author Italo Calvino and his Six Memos for the Next Millennium.
Calvino separates the light source from the reflector. A minimalist cylindrical marble base houses an upward-firing LED, while a slender brass stem holds an ultra-thin, two-sided circular mirror above it. By angling the mirror, you can catch the upward beam to bounce direct light onto a surface or tilt it upward to wash the room in soft, indirect ambient glow.
